Why?

==============

THE COMMUNITIES BLOG IS OVER

however I am now a social network addict so this will remain as an active blog focused narcissistically on me.

==============

Essentially I’m doing this blog because I’m like an annoying kid who won’t put their hand down who likes to get involved too much and I’m getting paid.

So this is what it’s about,

You can read about it here Communities Project, but I’ll sum it up for you. By following the activities of 8 students they can see what works and what doesn’t, how students interact with the university, other students, the areas. It’ll highlight what needs changing and what is fantastic.
There’s an extra emphasis on studying communities within the, well, community. One of the primary reasons I am carrying on with education, and universities, is for the people that I expect to meet. University takes a crowd of people with maybe a few similar interests and introduces them; social networking I believe is key to the art field and for someone like me who isn’t a naturally born socialite (though neither am I a retiring wall flower) University is a fantastic tool. That’s one of the reasons I applied to this project, as it’ll be interesting just to be able to see and take part in this research. UAL is looking to see how communities, groups, collectives begin, develop and flourish, and how they can help this.
